If you have an Octopus Money Pension (SIPP) you can transfer other old pensions into it.
First, you should check if the pension you want to transfer is eligible.
We are unable to transfer:
- Active (current) workplace pensions
- Defined Benefit (DB) Pension schemes - often referred to as 'Final Salary' or 'Career Average' pensions - these pensions pay a fixed amount each year upon retirement
- Schemes with a Defined Benefit element attached to them

Login to your Octopus Money Account
- Select the Octopus Money pension you'd like to transfer into
- On the bottom left of the screen, Select 'Transfer a pension'
- Using the dropdown, select the pension provider you'd like to transfer out of and the Octopus Money Pension you'd like to transfer into.
If you can't find your provider, or would only like to transfer part of your existing pension, not all of it, then select 'this form'
- Enter your pension reference (sometimes referred to as account or wrapper) number and approximate full value of the pension transfer
If you do not know the approximate value of your pension, please check this. If the value you enter is more than 10% different to the actual value of your pension your pension provider will reject the transfer.
- Confirm your address and select 'NEXT'
Make sure this address is current and that the same address is held by your old pension provider. If addresses do not match, your transfer will be rejected.
- Wait for your Investment illustration to be created.

Once you are ready to complete the transfer select 'Submit'
- You have successfully submitted your transfer request!
It will now be processed by our team, who will contact you with updates on it's progress and requests for information if needed.

The transfer process usually takes between 3 to 8 business weeks to complete, however this can sometimes be longer.
