On 25 June 2026, we're updating our sign in system to strengthen the security of all Octopus Money accounts. Your password will still work as normal until then — you don't need to do anything before 25/06.
What’s happening to my password on 25/06/26?
As of 25 June, your current Octopus Money account password will no longer work.
What do I need to do after 25/06/26?
When you next sign in, after 25 June, you’ll need to use the "FORGOT PASSWORD?" link on the sign in screen to reset it.
It only takes a moment, and the reset process is the same as usual.
The sign in screen and link will look like the screenshot below:
Will this change how I login?
No. You will still login with your password and Multi-Factor-Authentication (MFA) code.
If you have a valid UK mobile number registered to your account, you will now get the option to select how you would like to receive your code, via text or email:
If you don't currently have a phone number saved to your account, you will receive the code via email as before:
Do I need to do anything now?
No. You can still sign in as normal until 25 June.
Can I reset my password now?
If you reset your password before 25 June you'll still need to reset it again after the update.
We're big fans of being proactive, but this task cannot be cleared ahead of time.
However, If you need to reset your password as you've forgotten it, you can still do this as normal now.
Why are we doing this?
We're updating our login system to strengthen the security of all Octopus Money accounts, in line with our commitment to the protection of your data. It will also provide you with more flexibility and control over how you receive your sign in verification codes.
